What this service does
We collect publicly available releases from federal and provincial government newsrooms, preserve the source link, and organize related Canadian reporting alongside each release. Official material and independent reporting are labelled separately so readers can compare them directly.
See how it works
This short walkthrough shows how Canada Newsroom helps you follow official announcements, stay informed, and cross-reference related Canadian coverage as it is connected to the public record.
Why it exists
Government announcements are spread across many institutions and jurisdictions. This service creates one searchable public record and adds context about media pickup, timing, geography, claims, themes, and distinct story families where enough source material exists.
Who is responsible
The Canada Newsroom editorial desk is responsible for the organization, labelling, source verification, methodology, automated systems, corrections, and original analysis published on this service. Government institutions remain responsible for their official announcements, and linked publishers remain responsible for their reporting. The site does not invent personal bylines for automated or organization-level work.
Research and reuse
Our public research and data hub provides a downloadable, source-linked index for journalists, researchers, libraries, and civic-interest projects. Dataset records always retain the original official URL so readers can verify the source of record.
Free Reader and Supporter
Official releases, related reporting, source links, browsing, methodology, and essential context remain free. Signed-in readers can save stories and follow newsrooms or regions. Supporters contribute $5 CAD per month and unlock Newsroom Intelligence, framing analysis, personal archive tools, a longer archive, exports, saved searches, and future alerts and email delivery.
