ASIRT concludes investigation into in-custody death in Lethbridge

ASIRT says a man died after collapsing during an arrest in southeast Calgary. He had been tased with a conducted-energy weapon, became unresponsive during custody, received CPR, and was pronounced dead at hospital; ASIRT is investigating the use of force and circumstances surrounding the death.

ASIRT says it is investigating the death of a man who went over the High Level Bridge in Lethbridge after an encounter with police. Three officers responded, one approached the man, he moved away and went over the bridge, and he was pronounced dead at the scene; ASIRT arrived to continue the investigation and no officers were hurt.

The Saskatchewan police watchdog, SIRT, is formally investigating RCMP involvement in a in-custody death. The investigation follows an RCMP arrest that was posted to social media.
